About the event
Join Testing Ground on the 2nd September for another night of poetry and music.
Everyone's welcome for a night of poetry, music and performance which includes an open mic where audience members can sign up to show their stuff too! Testing Ground is a night to try out new things - whether it's your first open-mic, or you're a seasoned pro, it's a welcoming, supportive audience who want you to succeed as much as you do. Open-mic slots are sign up at the door and assigned on a lottery basis.
Rick McLean (Macca the Poet) is a Leeds-born poet and spoken word performer based in London. Mixing social observation, satire and humour in a distinctly Yorkshire voice, his work explores the absurdity of everyday life in modern Britain. Earlier this year he released his debut poetry pamphlet Common as Muck, and was recently published in The Poetry Lighthouse.
